What is Ghostgivers...

 

Ghostgivers is a Twitter-based fundraiser. It was created by @dickedinthenob and @capverswillbond on Twitter. Every month, the group behind ghostgivers re-enacts an episode from BBC Ghosts on Twitter Spaces, raising money for the chosen charity of that month. Our official hashtag on Twitter is #ghostgivers. We ask our listeners to tweet it as much as possible leading up- and during the livestreams.

How it started...

 

Ghostgivers was started by Rebecca and Xebby, when the BBC Ghosts Comic Relief sketch with Kylie Minogue was unfortunately cancelled in April of 2022. They decided they still wanted to do a fundraiser, hence the creation of Ghostgivers. It was supposed to be a one-off script reading with Ghosts fans, celebrating their love for the series and raising money for charity, but it quickly grew into something much more. This is how Ghostgivers became a regular live podcast, with Ghosts fans coming together regularly to participate in the reading, listen along to the stream, and sometimes even make a small donation to a charity.

Charities...

Ghostgivers is a non-profit fundraiser, which means we are not associated with any particular charity. We are also not a charity ourselves. When we pick a charity, we do it because it's supported by The Six Idiots, or because we believe the charity is trustworthy. During the stream, we will then ask donators to donate either directly to the charity, or in some cases through a third-party campaign, such as GoFundMe or JustGiving, and donate the entire amount ourselves. In both cases, the chosen charity will receive 100% of the profits. Our previous charities include:
